THE LAKE COUNTRY...
30 minutes from large cities such as Mons and Charleroi, 45 minutes from Namur and 60 minutes from the entrance to Brussels, the Pays des Lacs, with its 70 km of shoreline and 5 lakes, offers 25 sports, water sports, recreational and leisure activities (spin cable, jetski, bike park, laser game, the Red Crocodile, Natura park, etc.): the adventure park of accrobranches and zip lines, aqua golf, Aquacentre, foot golf & golf, Fun area for kayak, windsurfing, sailing & paddle rental, Sailing club, fishing, cycling,...). The north of the region is rich in an exceptional cultural heritage (Beaumont, Barbençon, Ragnies, Thuin, Abbaye d'Aulne, Walcourt,...) and the south offers a wild and preserved nature with forest massifs suitable for hiking and outdoor activities (Virvoin natural park, the Chimay forest crossing, the Virelles aquascope, the 3 valleys railway,...).

We are personally passionate about sails and windsurfing! And we recommend you to discover the ESPACE FUN... of nature with sensations... It is an oasis of relaxation located in Froidchapelle, on the Lake of the Plate Taille. With its nautical base (windsurfing, kayak, sailing and stand-up paddle rentals) and its beach area, you will find something to delight young and old, beginners or advanced and your group outings! Every Saturday from May onwards, come and spend a cosy evening in an original setting, with music and your feet in the sand! In summer "no stress-zen attitude", every Sunday with yoga in a soft and dynamic atmosphere, by the water.
BARBENçON, one of the most beautiful villages in Wallonia!
"The village of Barbençon is part of a gently undulating landscape. The Barbesigneau stream has shaped this landscape pattern, creating a rugged relief. Reflecting the gradual adaptation of the village to the specific features of the site, Barbençon is shaped by a succession of built ensembles alternating with plant screens. From the south, the high spire of the church of Saint Lambert emerges from the silhouette of the village punctuated by wooded areas. At the beginning, from the central square, the buildings stretch towards the core of the rue Pavée and spread out towards the bottom of the valley and the lake of Barbençon dominated by its old castle ".
